Plop Plop, Fizz Fizz - Large
A satirical commentary on consumerism and materialism enabling self-medication.
The reference of 'Plop Plop, Fizz Fizz' coming from the 1976 Alka-Seltzer advert by Mary Wells, a groundbreaking advertising executive. Not only used here as a nod to culturaly significant women, but to signify the nonchalant self-medication culture. Taking the edge off in a numbingly glamorous, sexy light. A cheeky martini with a plop plop, fizz fizz in your glass.
The branding on the Prozac not only linking to the sister piece 'Retail Therapy', but refering to a very self indulgent nature rather than uneasy psychological exploration. The glamorisation of ignorance facilitated by consumerism.
