Recent Life Drawing Sessions

Kick starting 2026 with a new box of charcoal! Big excitement here.

Having started going to life drawing sessions consistently last year, I noticed a staggering difference in my application and self critic within my practice. Specifically huge improvement on my perspective - no longer taking an age to correct the ratio of my figures. In terms of my composition, it's giving me the confidence to layer and play more with my stencils and motifs without cramping and cramming iconography into the image.

Above all, I'm thoroughly enjoying every session with such encouraging participants and creative models.

Moving into the New Year, my improvement hit list to bring into my practice is as followed:

  • Try to manage my time when blocking in the image - not looking at the clock seeing I'm left with five minutes, and being bolder with my primary application of focal points of my pieces.

  • Continue building on my a critical approach to perspective. Hopefully going hand in hand with better primary application, less correction!

  • Improving on increasing scale in an image, capturing details without overworking an area!

2026, lets see what you have to bring!
